‘Enzo Ferrari Memorial’ half marathon of Italy.
On 30 March 2025, some of Ferrari’s iconic locations played host to a major sporting occasion with the inaugural ‘Enzo Ferrari Memorial’ - Half Marathon of Italy, from Maranello to Modena, in memory of our founder.

The first 3.2 km of the race were the same for the three distances: the Ferrari Museum in Maranello was the meeting and starting point for everyone. From the start, you raced to the very exclusive Cittadella Ferrari, exceptionally opened to the public for the occasion.

Entering the Fiorano Circuit where Ferrari car testing takes place, before coming onto the actual track, we passed by Piazza Schumacher where Enzo Ferrari’s historic home is located.

At this point we finally entered the track: we skirted the pit box at the edge of the track and continued to the wide variant of the circuit. From here we exited the track to cross the beating heart of Scuderia Ferrari, where all of the Prancing Horse’s Formula 1 cars come to life.

After finishing the route related to the racing department, we passed under the iconic entrance arch and entered the Ferrari factory by taking viale Enzo Ferrari, running through the buildings where the various development areas of the company’s sports cars are based; and, finally, we closed the route inside the Ferrari Citadel by passing in front of the wind tunnel, designed by Renzo Piano.
Details 5 km and 10 km
Leaving the Ferrari plant behind, the 5 km and 10 km routes turned right. The 5 km closed the loop passing through the streets of downtown Maranello with arrival at the same point as the start. While the 10 km had a wider route in the city of Maranello and also passed through the Sports Park, where the multi-sport field that was built thanks to the proceeds of the event was located.

Details 21 km
Leaving the Ferrari Citadel, unlike the 5 km and 10 km, the Half Marathon route turned left in the direction of the city of Formigine. The gradient was interrupted only to enter the historic center of Formigine where we returned to a mostly flat surface. This detour took us to admire the medieval Formigine Castle, the heart of the local community. Then headed back down the via Giardini to the entrance to Modena to reach the tree-lined viale dei Muratori. Another interesting passage was when we left viale Trento e Trieste to enter Largo Garibaldi: here we found the historic Storchi theatre but, above all, we passed the Modena home of Enzo Ferrari, set for some scenes of the recent film dedicated to him. We then arrived at the via Emilia and entered the heart of Modena: here we were just a few steps away from the Ghirlandina tower, a Unesco heritage site. And we were in the final stages of our journey, taking via Farini to reach our destination: the iconic Piazza Roma, home of the Ducal Palace and the fulcrum of the historic center of the Emilian province and a short distance from the Enzo Ferrari Museum in Modena.

Ferrari is turning its private test track into a racecourse for distance runners once again. With a successful debut in 2025, the ‘Enzo Ferrari Memorial’ Half Marathon of Italy returns in 2026, inviting runners to lace up and charge through Maranello, Modena and a live section of the Fiorano circuit, a place generally reserved for engineers, drivers and the brand’s prototypes.
The race weekend takes place on 28-29 March 2026, with three distances: a full 21.097 km half-marathon, as well as 10 km and 5 km events.
The headline half-marathon runs point-to-point through Maranello to Modena, passing through Ferrari’s factory avenues, the company citadel and the iconic Fiorano test track. The shorter-distance loops return to the Ferrari Museum in Maranello, allowing every participant the opportunity to run across some of the most closely guarded tarmac in the automotive world.
While the 2025 debut already gave runners a rare taste of the circuit, the 2026 edition goes further, adding the new Ferrari e-Vortex and opening additional parts of the complex that are usually closed to the public.
“Ferrari is a unique brand, combining exclusivity and inclusivity. Welcoming the Mezza Maratona d’Italia – ‘Enzo Ferrari Memorial’ to our symbolic locations is a way to share our passion for this discipline with our community and fans. We enthusiastically support this weekend of sport, well-being and solidarity. In this way too, Ferrari continues its commitment to this extraordinary region, honouring the memory of our founder and our bond with these places,” said Benedetto Vigna, CEO of Ferrari.
Opened in 1972, Fiorano remains Ferrari’s private testing ground, a place where championship cars are perfected far from public view.

The 5 km Family Run takes place on Saturday, 28 March, while Sunday, 29 March is reserved for the competitive half-marathon and the non-competitive 10 km.
The memorial is evolving into a whole weekend festival, featuring a race village, community events and activities designed to draw the wider region into the experience.
Beyond the racing spectacle, proceeds from the event will support local social and sporting projects across Maranello, Fiorano Modenese, Formigine and Modena, including the development of new community sports infrastructure to make organised sport more accessible to young people.
Running through Fiorano will not guarantee a personal best, but few races offer the chance to follow the same circuit that has shaped Ferrari’s history over the decades.
