Are you looking for a special car, perhaps with a prestigious past and an important sporting past?
In the era of digital technology it would be easy to search on one of the many specialized sites of the web for a vehicle with these characteristics; but, if you would like to pass in front of a showcase to see special cars live in all senses and you are near Maranello, there are several places not to be missed.

One of these is in Modena, a few hundred meters from the Autostrada del Sole exit of Modena Nord - Bruciata area - and responds to the name of Autoluce.

The showcases are in via Crispo Gaio Sallustio n. 7 and the space available includes a covered area in the basement of the headquarters. For years it has been a meeting point for enthusiasts and has also supported several drivers who have raced at a high level such as, for example, Fabrizio "Piedone" Giovanardi and Marco Apicella. Over the years, high-level cars have changed hands, sometimes real opportunities because they are linked to market trends and fashions. Important names of the Region relied on the Modenese structure because it was easy for everyone to take a look and to look was a way of keeping up to date on the different models and about the colors that were changing over the years.

Particular attention was and is linked to racing cars: Formula 1 (also of the Prancing Horse), Formula 3, Gran Turismo with rich and prestigious palmares are sometimes in showcase, more often held in a reserved area, with an excellent collection of material for each of the cars on sale or on display.
The "changing of the guard" of recent years today sees as protagonists the shareholders of Erredibi, a father and son company that took over the business, founded in 1981 and, in fact, still in full shape despite the years of pandemic that have conditioned the last few seasons.
On the other hand, another historical business activity which, born in 1987, for years has represented a real "mecca" for sports and vintage car enthusiasts, has concluded its story: the Best Auto. Born from the idea of four friends, united by an unbridled passion, it has been for years one of the most important references at national level, which were born from the Autoluce experience.

In the town of Sassuolo, on the outskirts of Modena, in via Radici in Piano at number 511, there was an absolutely unique car shop.

Dozens of cars of absolute excellence, not always famous or known by most but always of interest and never banal: from the famous Porsche and Ferrari to the English sports cars such as MG, Triumph up to the ELVA and Ginetta, you could "find" everything.

For some time yet you will be able to see the images of the headquarters with the cars on display and it is immediately clear the different spirit that led to the creation of this activity: cars for everyone, or at least for many, with the possibility of seeing their dreams come true without having to give up on the exclusivity and prestige of famous brands but with particular cars and, more often than not, more important according to the numbers produced and technical characteristics if not unique, at least rare.

Lastly, a "gem": Maranello Purosangue, in Maranello in via Abetone Inferiore n. 45 (a few tens of meters before the historic entrance to the Ferrari factory) by Gabriele Candrini, a native of Modena, and Paul Kopp, a Modenese mother and an American father.

In fact, it is enough to take a look at the cars that have passed by their address to understand that quality is the key factor and that the "pieces" that pass through here are few but good, indeed very good.

Two classifications: the "classics", important cars from all over the world with prestigious palmares and the "thoroughbreds", cars that were born in Modena and which, for this reason, are kept at the highest levels (the workshop where they are checked and overhauled is Toni Auto, a few meters away, who began his story in the early 70s after a life spent in Ferrari - on the trick! - for the Scuderia and who, with the Commendatore, had a special relationship and direct.
